Jacob (Jake) Matig is a Visiting Assistant Professor (BUS 102) and Assistant Director of the First Year Integrated Core. Dr. Matig joined the Farmer School of Business in August 2018 upon earning a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Kentucky. Prior to pursuing an academic career, he worked as a marketing communications specialist within the healthcare sector for more than 10 years. He regularly calls upon this diverse background in his current role teaching BUS 102, and enjoys having the opportunity to help students in the FYIC grow in their confidence as oral and written communicators. Dr. Matig has research interests interpersonal communication and health communication, particularly how issues of identity are implicated in everyday health decisions.
